The Boar’s Head & Yule Log Festivalis a pageant rooted in ancient times that begins with the secular merry-making of 14th century England focused around the head of a slain boar. To the strains of “The Boar’s Head Carol” all join the herald in “honoring the King of bliss” for overcoming this ferocious beast. This secular festival complete with such familiar carols as “Deck the Hall” and “Here We Come A-Wassailing” is powerfully transformed into a portrayal and celebration of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem with shepherds and Magi joining the lords and ladies of the English court in praise of the Christ, who has triumphed over our greatest foe, sin and the devil.
A lavish production involving over 120 cast members in medieval costumes along with a choir and orchestra of over 80 musicians will bring this ancient festival to life and help all to reflect once again on Christ, our reason for joy during this Christmas season.
A freewill offering will be collected at each performance.
Admission Tickets (no charge) are required for each performance. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance. Guests must arrive by the published performance time with tickets in hand to guarantee reserved seating. The festival begins with a short concert of Christmas music during which time some late seating may occur. At this time those holding "Overflow Seating" tickets will be ushered to any unoccupied open seats throughout the church.

Saint John Lutheran Church and School is a member of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod and has served the Fraser community since 1864. The congregation celebrated its 150th Anniversary under the theme "Rooted and Growing in Christ" in 2014, giving thanks to God for the many blessings He bestowed in the past and is now looking forward in faith as we begin "branching out" anew through a new building and remodeling program during the next couple years. Although an older congregation, Saint John remains a vibrant community of believers where the proclamation of God's Word and the administration of the Sacraments are central to all we do. Our worship centers on God's Word proclaimed through music, traditional liturgy, and the spoken word thus maintaining a connection to our roots but remaining relevant to our lives in today's society.
Throughout its 152 year history, providing a quality Christian education has been of highest priority. Saint John's school is known for its academic excellence, combining cutting-edge technology with tried-and-true teaching methods to reach all students. But most importantly, Saint John's students read, learn, and witness God's Word daily as they learn and interact together. To learn more about Saint John, please visit our website or contact us.
