10th Anniversary: Legacies and Transformations: Our Community

Come join community stakeholders from multiple sectors of our lives to celebrate the work our organization has accomplished over the last 10 years.

The Mexican Coalition for the Empowerment of Youth and Families was established in April 2013 and has grown from one tiny office to several in NYC and one in Mexico. And it is currently assisting over 17,000 families a year to develop their potential-socially, professionally, intellectually, and academically.

Our events and programs strive to empower those who come to our doors through 3 sectors of assistance: Legal, Health, and Education. The legal staff directs vulnerable families to trustworthy attorneys. In response to community health needs, the Coalition hosts health fairs, health-related workshops, provides a wide variety of onsite screenings, and connects many individuals to vetted medical resources. We host vaccination programs and various mental health counseling services. Most urgently, we are connecting at-risk children and adults to healthcare programs like NYC Care. In addition, our education services offer weekly English and Citizenship classes during the year, along with certificate programs that could open employment opportunities. The Mexican Coalition's goal is to empower individuals and families with tools to sustain themselves educationally, financially, and culturally: and to do so in good health. There is much to be proud of, and yet so much more to be done .
