Put some PEP IN YOUR STEP and join us in the 10K a Day 90 Day Step Challenge. Your mission, if you choose to accept, is to reach your personal goal of 10,000 (10K) steps every day then exceed it!
Teams can be formed by gathering your co-workers, neighbors, friends, spouses, children or members of your unit. Teams are limited to 20 people with any mixture of age or beneficiary status. Anybody who is stationed at Fort Polk as a Soldier, retiree, DOD/NAF civilian and all of their immediate families (spouses and children at home under age 18) may participate. Teams will compete against each other for the best overall team step average. However every one who participates will each win individually by developing healthier habits that, if continued, will results in a healthier and happier life.
Pedometers, Fit Bits, Garmins, and other fitness tracking devices are highly encouraged but daily activities may also be converted into steps using the conversion chart (click here to download). There is no need to buy anything.
Teams will nominate a team leader who will be responsible to e-mail the step count for the entire team to Health Promotion every Wednesday by COB. Please be prompt in recording your steps to your captain every Monday for the entire week including the weekends.
