100 Solution event flyer march 17 2017

We are pleased to invite you as a special guest among others, which include the Ambassador of Ghana to the UN, the Minister of Social Dialogue in Senegal, Madam Ora Welch, and Madam Terry Ince at the parallel event organized by African Views, titled: 100 Solutions for Peaceful Advancement of Women Across Cultures. The event will take place on March 17th, 2017 during the 61st session of the Commission on the Status Women at the United Nations.

The event marks the 5th edition of the annual campaign to adopt “Anti Violence Against Women Act (AVAWA).” The AVAWA makes ending all forms of discrimination, abuse and violence against women or girls a top priority for African States by suggesting that the African governments honor the existing provision for women as stated in each country’s constitutions with a comprehensive, multi-sectorial strategic national plan for reducing and ending violence against women.

This event is also commemorated with the launch of a book, from which the title of the event is adopted. Please invite your friends and associates to the event. Detail information about the event as well as how to share this link or register for the event is available here: www.bit.ly/100peacefulsolutions (only registered attendees are entered to win a copy of the book)

This special invitation is to all defenders and avengers of human rights violations concerning women. The program offers an opportunity for local community organizations and grass root movements to mix and mingle with international counterparts and colleagues that share related views or working on similar agenda.

GOALS

The goal is to inform, educate, combine resources, and strengthen our collaboration towards the goal of achieving a more peaceful and sustainable society with gender equality on top of the list. Starting from the history of the Suffrage moment achievement, the United Nation Women, Commission on the Status of Women, Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA), Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), International Violence Against Women Act (IVAWA), Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Australian Women Against Violence Alliance (AWAVA), Anti Violence Against Women Act (AVAWA) and much more.

OBJECTIVES

We have collected 100 Solutions for Peaceful Advancement of Women across Cultures in form of inspiring stories, fascinating experiences, actionable ideas, quotes, statements, statutes, suggestions, policies, artwork and photos journalism from women, girls, and males who support the initiative around the world, and published it as a book. The book is a rich compilation of multidisciplinary strategies for implementing the Anti Violence Against Women Act (AVAWA) and serves as a resource for identifying roadblocks and understanding current approaches.
