Description

The 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte, in conjunction with the CMPD Community Services Bureau, will offer its signature mentor training program on January 24th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, CMPD Charlotte Police & Fire Training Academy – 1770 Shopton Rd, Charlotte, NC 28217. The 100 delivers mentoring training at their annual conferences and regional training workshops, which are open to the public and is pleased to make its signature mentor training program available to the residents of the City of Charlotte, for which attendees will receive certification in “Mentoring the 100 Way”.

The mentor training will be conducted by the 100’s internationally recognized Mentoring Chairperson, Dr. Joshua Murfree.

Dr. Murfree served as the National/International Mentoring Chairman of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. for sixteen years. He also served on the Executive Committee for 100 Black Men of America, Inc. as the Vice-Chairman of Programs, which oversaw the programmatic areas of Economic Empowerment, Education, Health and Wellness, and Mentoring. He was elected as Vice-Chairman of Operations for the organization for two terms. Dr. Murfree has been recognized as the architect of a comprehensive mentoring known as “Mentoring the 100 Way [now Mentoring the 100 Way Across a Lifetime].” Dr. Murfree returns to a familiar post as he was recently appointed as the Chairman of Programs for the 100 Black Men of America, which oversees Education, Mentoring, Health and Wellness, Economic Empowerment, Collegiate 100, Dollars and Sense ($ense), African-American History.

100 Black Men chapters have historically and continue to deliver unique programs across the U.S. and in London that address specific needs in local communities. The network has activated partner-funded programs that deliver education, empowerment, and leadership development across the 100’s Four For the Future focus areas “ Mentoring, Education, Health & Wellness, Economic Empowerment.” Peer-to-peer mentoring and group mentoring are inclusive of middle school, high school, college, and soon Emerging 100 chapters (which will be scaled and connected to the 100 global networks). The 100’s mentoring model offers youth unique educational opportunities that include connections with living legends and leaders across many industries.
