New, Faster Registration for Free Events

We’re always looking for innovative ways to improve the buyer registration experience on Eventbrite and help event organizers bring in the most registrations and sales as possible for their events.

This week, we’re excited to roll out a new, simplified event registration experience for attendees. We’re testing this new flow on select free events and attendees will only need to click one button on the page to register. A faster, easier registration experience is a win-win for everyone!

This friction-free registration leverages Facebook Connect to automatically get the attendees’ name and email from Facebook when they click ‘Sign up with Facebook’ on an event page.

We know not everyone wants to use Facebook to register, so we also give attendees the option to sign up with their email address. No matter which option the attendee uses, both give them a simplified, faster registration process. We’ve removed multiple button clicks, input fields, page loads, and brought it down to a single page with a single button and voilà!  You’re done!

This new registration experience is now available for free events in the US English language on that has only 1 ticket type and is only collecting basic attendee information (name, email). Free events using additional functionality such as custom HTML, showing remaining tickets, invitation only, using RSVP on invitations, or have customized order confirmation page messaging will be excluded from this initial rollout.
