Secrets to Fundraising Success from the YMCA of San Francisco

With 14 branches and 140 offsite programs, the YMCA of San Francisco relies on substantial philanthropic support to help meet the needs of 10,000 youth served daily in Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties. As the Campaign Director, Lauren Bruce is in charge of coordinating fundraising efforts across the organization as well as planning two major events: the Kids to Camp Golf Classic, which has taken place annually for 26 years, and the Y For Youth Luncheon, a 400-person event in its fourth year.

It’s no accident that these events have had longstanding success, and Lauren offers advice on how nonprofits can successfully manage and align events across a large and dynamic organization.

  • Holds a unified fundraising program across 14 YMCA chapters
  • Delights donors and sponsors through a VIP guest experience
  • Plans large-scale events, highly-successful events that justify the cost of fundraising
