Biography

A multi-talent, Jack Johnson is a singer, songwriter, actor, record producer, documentary film-maker, and even a former professional surfer. He’s had a life-long passion for music, learning how to play the guitar at the age of 8, and songwriting at the age of 12. His all-time favorite guitarist is Jimi Hendrix, and his influences include Bob Dylan, Radiohead, The Beatles, and Bob Marley, among others.

Jack’s debut studio album “Brushfire Fairytales” was released in 2001 and was certified platinum. 2 years later his second studio album was released “On and On”, featuring Adam Topol at the drums and percussion, and Merlo Podlewski at the bass guitar.

In 2006, Johnson released a soundtrack album “Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George”. It was the first soundtrack to peak at number 1 since the “Bad Boys II”, and first animated soundtrack since “Pocahontas” to top the Billboard 200.

Jack Johnson is considered an alternative rock musician, but you can occasionally notice elements of reggae, hip-hop, and soca styles. His amazing voice will leave you wanting to hear more.
