Biography

If their catchy name doesn't give it away, after you hear For Peace Band's energetic and uplifiting lyrics, you'll know that the roots reggae group is on a mission to promote positivity and love worldwide, starting with their home island of Guam. Formed in 2014, when Jacob “JC” Iosia (vocals/keyboards) befriended his neighbor, Freddy Bordallo (vocals/drums) and local musicians, Ronald “RJ” Pereira (guitar/backing vocals) and Danton Cruz (bass), the band didn't take long to compile a hit album. They released their debut album, "Forwards Ever," in 2014. Within a week, the album earned a spot on iTunes' top 10 Reggae Albums chart. The following year, the group released their "Feel This" EP. They won consecutive awards for 2014 Best Original Song and 2015 Best Reggae Band at the Island Music Awards in Hawaii. Their highly-anticipated sophomore album, "Always Love," is set to release on Rootfire Cooperative in July 2018. For Peace Band has been blessed to share the stage with other talented international artists such as Fortunate Youth, Hirie, Katchafire, Sons of Zion, Ooklah the Moc, House of Shem, Magic!, Martin Campbell, Shaggy, The Green, Tribal Seeds, Josh Heinrichs, SkillinJah, Peni Dean of Natural Vibrations and more.
