How to promote your event on Twitter

We recommend creating an account with your event name to begin building up your event's brand. Check out these great examples: @SFNewTech @Gnomedex
Create your event page on Eventbrite
When you reach "Step 3: Event Details," include a link or a nice "follow badge" to encourage people to follow your Twitter account.

Collect attendee Twitter handles
Create a custom survey to collect Twitter handles from your attendees so you can start following them. Don't forget to display them in the attendee list so attendees can find each other on Twitter! (Learn how to collect custom information)

Promote your event Twitter handle
Include it in all your email communications to your attendees as a way to find out the latest updates from you outside of email.
Most important step: Engage your followers
Hold discussions, ask questions, introduce sessions, speakers, etc. Have a conversation with your followers! Here are some great examples:

Note: Here are some more helpful tips about Twitter:
- What we have found to be very useful is to tweet about the key moments in your event life cycle: early bird specials, discount code offerings, 24 hours before registration closes, 10 tickets left, etc.
- Twitter is also a great way to anchor all discussions surrounding the event. This is usually done by including a common hashtag, such as #typeamomcon in all tweets related to the event.
- After the event, continue to use Twitter to engage followers and to attract more followers interested in coming to your next event. This can be done by participating in relevant discussions (e.g. #icecream if your event is about ice cream).
