How to set your Google Checkout Merchant Preferences:
On Google Checkout:
After signing up for Google Checkout Merchant select the Settings tab and then the Preferences link on the left hand side.
On the Google Checkout Preferences Page:

Switch the setting titled Order Processing to Automatically authorize and charge the buyer's credit card.

Check the box next to Email me each time I receive... if you'd like to receive notifications of payments.
