Crescent City Lights Youth Theater
The Crescent City Lights Youth Theater is New Orleans' only community theater presenting musicals with casts of children ages 8 - 17 year round. Children are selected by application with subsequent audition.
A partner organization with the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission, CCLYT is continuing the 50+ year tradition of theater as a part of City of New Orleans Recreation.
CCLYT has presented over 35 productions since its inception in 1993.
AWARDS: The January, 2011 production of Captain Louie won Outstanding Achievement in Music and Best Actor for 11-year-old Tucker Godbold at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta. The same production placed 3rd in the Louisiana AACT Festival and won awards for best costume, best teen female signer and best child actor.
CCLYT is seeking addtional year-round office/rehearsal space, business sponsors and new participants and artistic staff.
