Equal Marriage Illinois
The Equal Marriage Illinois (EMI) project seeks to challenge Illinoisans to stand up for fairness in our marriage laws. We are raising awareness around the State about the real harms and loss of dignity faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) families who are denied access to the status, benefits and protections of legal marriage. We believe, given accurate information, the people of Illinois will recognize the need to ensure fairness to all citizens and will reject the denial of marriage to LGBT families. We invite all Illinoisans to join us in this effort.
Equal Marriage Illinois is the collaborative effort of Equality Illinois, Lambda Legal and the ACLU of Illinois.
