The InterFaith Conference was founded in 1978 by Jewish, Muslim, Protestant and Roman Catholic leaders. Now, 31 years later, it is composed of eleven historic religions--Baha'i, Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Latter-day Saints (Mormon), Muslim, Protestant (various), Roman Catholic, Sikh and Zoroastrian. The IFC brings clergy, lay leaders and members of these and more religions together for mutual education, discussion & discovery, dialogue, and collaboration. In these times, when religious differences often seem behind the worst of world strife, The InterFaith Conference helps these very different religions use their differences in common peacemaking and community building. It seeks to make the Washington metropolitan region a model community in the very best of active religious pluralism.
