Across the Table

Across the Table is a non-profit which breaks down race and socio-economic barriers by uniting Chicagoans to share meals and dynamic conversation in order to lead to an understanding and appreciation of participants’ differences and common experiences.

Across the Table’s participants enjoy dinners that take place throughout the city of Chicago at ethnically diverse restaurants and even in cooking schools. Each dinner group is limited to eight people and includes a trained volunteer who will guide and facilitate the discussion.  Participants can register for individual dinners or for a series of dinners. The individual dinners allow participants to get a taste of Across the Table and the dinner series enable participants to dine with the same people at each dinner which will allow them to develop deeper connections to their fellow participants. Each dinner will be focused around a specific topic for discussion, but expanding beyond the initial discussion topic is welcomed.
