What is OakX? OakX is a platform. Our vision is a safe space to think about important and complex issues. We plan to bring together local thinkers, leaders and entrepreneurs to present ideas and practices for innovation in the civic realm. During this time of great disruption, OakX is about discovering what is emerging.
OakX, a volunteer effort, will organize a short series of non-partisan, civic events. We invite all interested people to come to OakX and hear something new or interesting. Please sign up for our email list using the link above.
Who is OakX? OakX was created by Ratna Amin (@ratnaamin), an urban planning consultant who has held several policy, political and planning roles in Oakland. OakX exists with the support of many visionary people: Katherine Bell, Kiran Jain, Steve Spiker/Urban Strategies Council, Dan Cohen and Edit Ruano/Full Court Press, Susan Mernit/Oakland Local, Debbie Acosta/2.Oak, Eleanor Hollander/Oakland Chamber of Commerce, Ahmad Mansur/Urban Economy Institute, Jeremy Liu/Creative Ecology, Nathan Stalnaker, Tomiquia Moss, Susan Worthman, Catherine Lim, Tim Aldinger, Elinor Buchen, Jonathan Bair, Echa Scneider, Navarre Joseph and many other civic leaders.
Katherine Bell is OakX's rock star coordinator and communicator.
