Based on the premise that the Quad Cities as a whole is a more formidable competitor in the economic development arena than the sum of its individual parts, the Quad City Development Group was founded in 1961 as the organization to represent and advocate for the whole Quad Cities for the three-fold purpose of:
Assisting local businesses to expand and grow.
Marketing the Quad Cities externally for the purpose of attracting investment and generating jobs.
Counseling local communities on becoming more attractive to existing and potential employers.
To fulfill its mission, the Quad City Development Group strives to achieve the following strategic objectives:

Consistently and significantly add jobs and economic value by aggressively seeking and attracting new business to our region.
Become a premier mid-sized Midwest location for business development.
Influence local, state, and federal public policy supportive of Western Illinois/Eastern Iowa regional economic development.
Effectively manage the resources and strategic relationships to execute the plan.
