In 1997, Connie Hampton founded Hampton & Associates because she saw a need for lower-cost, higher-quality scientific and executive searches that returned far more precise results — especially in biotechnology and life sciences.

Connie is not only passionate about her work but brings specialized expertise to the research and interviewing process for each open position. She is one of a select elite of recruiters who actually knows what a bioreactor is, and her knowledge of this has enabled her to strategically fill positions others are unable to. Connie masters detailed information quickly, and her superb organizational skills allow for the expedited use of that data.

Currently, Connie is spearheadingHampton & Associates’ expansion in the fields of biomass and alternative energy, which are also areas of great personal interest. She sees tremendous present and future opportunities in these fields for finding solutions to issues of climate change/energy independence.

Connie apprenticed under the esteemed Nancy Hitchcock of Hitchcock and Associates in Oakland, where she learned the fundamentals of performing a search. While working with Hitchcock and Associates, Connie executed searches in the fields of e-commerce, consulting and high-tech, along with placements in biotech and pharmaceuticals. Eventually, Connie broke away to create Hampton & Associates, where she could refine her own search methods and focus on the bio-industry.

Connie is a member of many biotech and pharmaceutical industry groups and is active in international recruiting groups. She has been a member of the San Francisco Bay Area Recruiters’ Association (BARA) since 1999 and is the former Chair.

Connie enjoys coaching job-seekers who don’t match her clients’ needs — teaching them on how to refine their own search process and move forward in their career.

She also has raised 3 very competent children, an anthropologist, a physicist and one on her way to an MD or MPH.  Connie herself graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA, BA cum laude.
