Fairmount Heritage Foundation
Fairmount Heritage Foundation, official stewards for the preservation of Riverside and Fairmount Cemeteries, offers a variety of educational programs, preservation workshops, and tours at both of our sites.
Riverside Cemetery, founded in 1876, is a National Historic District with a rich military history including three Medal of Honor recipients and more Civil War veterans than any other cemetery in Colorado.
Fairmount Cemetery, founded in 1890, is the largest arboretum in Colorado which includes one of the largest collections of "old garden roses" in North America. Fairmount has five Medal of Honor recipients.
Both cemeteries are designated as Urban Wildlife Watching Areas by the Colorado Divison of Wildlife; have collections of rare monuments and art; and reflect the history and heritage of early Colorado.
