United Community Ministries (“UCM”) is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to assist families and individuals improve the quality of their lives in a manner that builds self-esteem and fosters an ability to function at their greatest capacity -- socially, economically, and emotionally.  UCM annually serves over 10,000 marginalized community members in southeastern Fairfax County, Virginia by helping them meet basic needs such as food, shelter, medicine, utilities and employment, and by empowering those individuals to move toward self-sufficiency through collaboration, counseling and education.
