The French Legation

The French Legation Museum, a non-profit historic house museum, is the oldest wood-frame structure in Austin and a Texas State Archeological Landmark. Built to serve as the diplomatic outpost for King Louis Philippe of France to the Republic of Texas, the legendary open-to-the-public museum has a rich, storied history, and is currently under the custodianship of The Daughters of The Republic of Texas.
