The Episcopal School of Los Angeles & Children Mending Hearts

The Episcopal School of Los Angeles (ESLA)

ESLA was founded in 2010 to educate ethical leaders for the 21st Century.  An urban middle and high school, 6-9th grade (6-12th by 2017) in the heart of Hollywood.  ESLA lives in the tension between tradition and innovation, devoted to a liberal arts program as well as a rigorous science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) curriculum.  Ethics and public service are blended throughout our academic life.  ESLA is a school built for pioneers and leaders, for risk takers and deep thinkers who want to live lives of purpose.  Unlike any other school, 70% of our students receive full (30%) or partial financial aid.  Full-pay families are devoted to being a part of a school that reflects the face of the City of Los Angeles both ethnically and socioeconomically.

Children Mending Hearts (CMH)

CMH, founded by Lysa Heslov in 2008, is dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth through educational and arts programs that build empathy and global citizenry. Through after school classes and arts exchange workshops, CMH actively engages US youth in global children’s causes where they can positively impact the life of another child.
