The Bay Area Black Journalists Association
Established in 1982, BABJA serves as an advocate and beneficial network of journalists, studens and media-related professionals to: ensure hiring, reention and promotion of black journalists; encourage and mentor black journalism students; and provide a professional and social network for black journalists. Membership in BABJA is open to everyone of any ethnicity. In the last decade BABJA has given more than $60,000 in direct scholarships to college students. www.BABJA.org
