Silversärk

Silversärk began in 2005 as a way to bring the aesthetics of Japanese Street Fashion to a Western market, which has since expanded to include many kinds of alternative fashion, from Steampunk to Gothic to Avant Garde and High Fashion. Over the past several years, Silversärk has gained notice in the Midwest for distinctive textiles, design, detailing, and tailoring. Taking historic fashion to the mainstream by using contemporary silhouettes and textiles, Silversärk garments are one-of-a-kind designs with modern comfort and function in mind.

Each collection involves months of historical research and sourcing to allow for the telling of a social narrative. Previous collections explore the schism between the Catholic and Protestant churches in the Netherlands, the history and hubris of Venice, the downfall of the Byzantine Empire, gender identity and expression, and more. Stephanie's themed fashion shows show an excellent attention to detail and creating a memorable, immersive experience for all.
