San Lorenzo Valley Museum
The San Lorenzo Valley Museum is the only museum whose mission is the gathering and sharing the history of the San Lorenzo Valley. We fulfill our mission through:
- Educational Outreach: docent-led field trips from public, private, charter, and home schools throughout Santa Cruz County. We also have traveling trunks for classroom use. All offered on a donation basis
- Exhibits: A strong exhibition program is maintained by exhibits curated in-house, co-curated with other Santa Cruz County museums, and hosting traveling exhibits from state and natiional museums and sponsored through local members and businesses
- Research: Assistence with research of family, property, business, and local landmarks
- Museum itself: Historic church building built in 1906 from old-growth redwood and listed on National Registar of Historic Places. Used as a church, first as Grace Episcopal, then as First Church of Christ, Scientist before being sold to San Lorenzo Valley Historical Society in mid-1990's.
