I am a retired architect and qualified tour guide, with a Clerkenwell and Islington badge. I have lived back in London since 1979, passionately exploring and observing my birth place and home during this time, to the extent that I would regard myself as an urban ‘Flaneur’ and ‘Psychogeographer’.
My overall experience of London is that of a collection of urban villages/districts/localities, surrounding the City of London centre, of which Greater London is 47% green and blue space.
The aim of my walks (urban wanderings) is to discover and impart the character, a sense of place in chosen localities. The walks are designed to be route and visually based, with an emphasis on architecture, urban details, public and green spaces and whatever is just plain odd.
