Riffs Fine Street Food started in April 2011 by B.J. Lofback and his good friend Carlos Davis, after the two met while helping to feed relief workers during the aftermath of the 2010 flood in Nashville. They quickly found a shared passion for creating flavors derived from street food cuisines from around the world. Riffs Fine Street Food was born with Lofback and Davis playing riffs on food from various cultures to create unique twists on Asian, Caribbean, Mexican and Indian dishes. Lofback has been a crucial part of the Nashville food truck scene, helping to form the Nashville Food Truck Association, of which he is currently president. Lofback continues to organize successful food truck events in greater Nashville proving he is not only a food truck owner but one of the biggest food truck fans. Riffs Fine Street Food has gone on to impress customers and critics alike by being selected as Best Food Truck (2011) and Best Popup Restaurant (2012) by the editorial staff of the Nashville Scene. They also won Nashville's Battle of the Food Trucks in 2011 and 2012 and Best of the Best in the 2012 Nashville Street Food Awards. Riffs has also made local and national television appearances on the Cooking Channel's "Eat St." and an upcoming episode of "Unique Eats." Lofback will be opening Riffs Cafe at Highland Ridge, a coffee, pastry and lunch shop, in August 2013.
