Project Motherpath, Inc.

Project Motherpath (formerly BirthGirlz) is a non profit organization working to normalize and revalue all aspects of motherhood through education, outreach, community building and activism. We think that the hard, worthwhile, messy, ordinary work that mothers are doing every day, in every city, town, and village around the world is extraordinary, noteworthy and wildly overlooked and undervalued.  We believe that how we birth and raise our daughters and our sons has an impact on our sense of ourselves across time and culture as well as how society views motherhood and mothering. At Project Motherpath we are interested in the stories, experiences and challenges of women navigating the journey of motherhood. We value both the individuality and diversity of women and recognize that each woman's experience of pregnancy, labor and birth is her's alone. As such we affirm that women and their families have the right to determine the standard of care they receive. Our goal is to empower women and families to create their own network of resources and to make informed decisions. Our programs provide quality care, education and support fostering independence and respectfully guiding women and their families through the process of pregnancy, birth and early parenting.
