Peacemaker Enterprise: Hitaji Aziz
Hitaji Aziz has a Master’s Degree in counseling psychology from the Union Institute & University. She has been dedicated to social and planetary healing; nationally and internationally since 1965. She is a detoxification specialist (Pending Certification), massage therapist, radical self-care coach, Reiki Master, workshop facilitator, holistic healer and social justice abolitionist.
Her professional portfolio includes being a motivational speaker, radio producer, spoken word artist, meditation guide, community volunteer and an advocate of Radical Self- Care as a spiritual practice as well as a social justice commitment.
She teaches about the collateral damages of intergenerational trauma and oppressions and how family systems, communities and social justice movements are epigenetically affected by traumatic distress patterns that can manifest energetically and systemically through human behavior. She believes that racism, poverty and violence on our planet express the lack of societal wellness and spiritual decline. She believes that the practice of Radical Self- Care is the new paradigm shift for planetary healing.
She was the former KPFT radio talk show host of Earth 101 for 32 years. In 2005 she was one of the core leaders and organizers for the Free Francis Newton Champaign. Francis NewtonApril 12, 1965 – September 14, 2005) wasexecutedbylethal injection and was the first African American woman to be executed on Death Row in Texas since the resumption of capital punishment in the state in 1982.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania; her personal experiences reflect her journey of being born in an family that was heavily impacted by the Prison Industrial Complex, violence, mental illness, poverty, racism and addiction.
She uses the candid wisdom of her personal history throughout her community work as the reflective lessons of obesity, destructive eating distress, homelessness, single parenting, suicidal attempts, depression, sexual abuse, domestic violence and therapeutic recovery as constant reminders that suffering can be generational as well as optional. She entered the Houston Area Women's Center Shelter for Domestic Violence with her three children in 1983.
She is 42% Ivory Coast/Ghana, 15% Cameroon/Congo, 14% Nigerian and 10% West European coupled with the ancestral lineage of American chattel slavery and radical resilience. She offers progressive possibilities with intention for the Greater Good. She is the owner of Peacemaker Enterprise and the Keeper of Sacred Grandmother Wisdom.
