Our Family Coalition (OFC) promotes the equality and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) families with children. We foster community leadership in advocacy efforts that promote social justice. Founded in 1994, we directly serve more than 4,000 people a year, reaching many more through advocacy and institutional change work. OFC has extensive experience providing parent education and community-building events for LGBTQ parents and prospective parents, including parent peer support groups and events addressing particular groups and needs (i.e., parents of color, adoptive parents, transgender parents).
OFC QPLAY (Queer Parents for the Love and Advocacy of Our Youth) organizes LGBTQ families in the Peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area to create more welcoming schools for our children. The purpose of this project is to mobilize LGBTQ parents and organize a campaign focused on creating long-term change to make Peninsula schools more welcoming and inclusive of our diverse families.
