Orpheum Children's Science Museum
The Orpheum Children’s Science Museum is a regional, non-profit, children’s organization developed to inspire, engage, and educate diverse children of all ages through exploration of the sciences and arts. As part of this, we are committed to being an inclusive organization, reaching out to share our resources with those in the community who have the fewest opportunities. The Orpheum serves more than 25,000 visitors annually, encouraging learning and imagination through play and experimentation.
Located in the heart of downtown Champaign, the 9400 square feet that comprise the Museum’s building are made up of hands-on, discovery-based exhibits that reveal fundamentals in mechanics, navigation, anatomy, hydrology, paleontology, and more as well as a historic theater.
Our theater is a historic community treasure that the Museum is rescuing. As a community-based, volunteer organization, we rely on the active involvement of members, donors, foundations, and volunteers. The vitality of our organization is a testament to the strength of these community partnerships.
