ISAC - Educator Programs
The Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures s a research organization and museum devoted to the study of ancient West Asia and North Africa. Founded in 1919 by James Henry Breasted, the Institute, a division of the University of Chicago, is an internationally recognized pioneer in the study of the archaeology, philology, and history of the cultures of ancient West Asia and North Africa. The ISAC Museum houses a world-renowned collection of ancient art and artifacts for the benefit of researchers, students, educators, and the general public. The Museum displays objects recovered by ISAC excavations in permanent galleries devoted to ancient Egypt, Nubia, Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria, Anatolia, Palestine, and Israel, as well as special temporary exhibits.
