Organizing Brooklyn Communities Inc. (OBC)

Organizing Brooklyn Communities Inc. (OBC) is an innovative and unique organization, which was officially established and incorporated under the laws of the State of New York in October 2010. After working in the East Flatbush community for the past five years with various block associations and other institutions, it became apparent that there was a dire need for a cohesive group to represent, advocate for and collaborate on behalf of our diverse communities and associations within the Borough of Brooklyn. OBC intends to be that conduit.

Therefore, OBC is a borough-wide, community based not-for-profit, grassroots, service-oriented organization, which comprises of a network of block, tenant, merchant, civic, and other associations. Our aim is to support and implement programs designed and calculated to improve the standard of living of our citizens and residents, through empowering people to address issues that affect the quality of their lives. We are publicly and privately funded and are governed by a Board of Directors.
