Mirrabook Development Trust CIC

Mirrabook Development Trust CIC is a centre for excellence in digital learning; that is, the use of technology in an education and training context. Uniquely, we are a not-for-profit social enterprise, so have social responsibility embedded in our culture.

We offer an array of quality services associated with digital learning – including e-learning strategies, e-learning operational plans, development of digital learning, staff development for teaching with technology and e-learning evaluation – to the education and training sectors, and all of the profits from these services, along with grant funding and corporate sponsorship, are invested into helping us achieve our social aim:

To develop a free, quality digital learning experience for children and young people that will assist them to achieve their potential and not be limited by socio-economic background, race, gender, disability or learning difficulty.

In order to focus our work, we have developed five social projects, each of which has its own additional social aim.

We utilise digital learning for our social projects because we believe in its power to:

  • engage a geographically wider audience of children and young people
  • develop the digital literacy skills that will be much needed by children and young people as they enter the careers of the future
  • engage children and young people and improve attainment, particularly in those with learning difficulties
  • allow children and young people to learn at more of an individual pace.
