Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter

The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter is part of a national force devoted to solving the cruel mystery of lupus while providing caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact.  The LFANC is the only statewide lupus organization in North Carolina.

VISION
The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter envisions a world without lupus.  The organization will advance the science and medicine of lupus to find a cure and improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus.

MISSION
The Lupus Foundation of America North Carolina Chapter is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, and advocacy.

With the help of informed volunteers, lupus medical experts, and committed and caring supporters, we:

  • support research and conduct education programs so everyone affected by lupus can have an improved quality of life;
  • provide information to ensure people with lupus and their families get answers and health professionals know about new means to diagnose and manage the disease; and,
  • conduct activities to increase awareness of lupus, rally public support for those who are affected by lupus, and advocate on their behalf.

WHO WE ARE
Over 30 years ago, a handful of people in North Carolina dreamed of serving those in our community who had been affected by lupus.  It was this dream that lead to the formation of the Lupus Foundation of America, Winston-Triad Chapter.  In time, a similar group of individuals were inspired to create the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter.  Over the decades, the two chapters have changed thousands of lives because of a commitment that has remained focused on making a difference in the lupus community.  In 2013, the two respective chapters joined and formed the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter (LFANC).
