International Orphan Care
Since the Soviet invasion in 1979, the people of Afghanistan have endured lives filled with deprivation, brutality and anguish. An entire generation has lost their childhood. Over 1.5 million have lost one or both parents, and over 700,000 orphans are living in sub-poverty conditions.
International Orphan Care’s (IOC) founded a vocational school in Jalalabad, Afghanistan in January 1994 with the a mission of H.O.P.E. - to Help Orphans be Productive and Educated.
Today IOC provides education, healthcare, nourishment and vocational training for orphans, and children of the poor, internally displaced or returning refugee families throughout Afghanistan.
Our goal is to Enable Afghan Orphans and poor children and their families to become productive members of society.
IOC hosts events to raise awareness of the needs of the people of Afghanistan and to raise funds to support our programs and projects in Afghanistan.
