I'm Thankful Four
The Kelsey Mikel Memorial Foundation begain in the fall of 2004 following the death of Kelsey Mikel. Kelsey was 16 at the time of her death. She was the Business Manger of The Logue, NorthWood High School's nationally recognized yearbook. Kelsey was the manager for the NorthWood Cross Country team with her father, Mark as the coach.
Kelsey left behind her father Mark, her mother, Kathy, and her sisters Emily, Mattie, and McKenna.
Kelsey was an organ and tissue donor whose gift of life saved four others' lives and enhanced over 50 others. Kelsey's family has since become involved as volunteers with the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization telling their story of healing and hope in the wake of Kelsey's death and gift.
The Kelsey Mikel Memorial Foundation provides two scholarships each year for graduating NorthWood seniors. The Kelsey Mikel Yearbook Memorial Scholarship goes to a deserving senior from The Logue staff, and the Dreams Come True Scholarship is awarded to a graduatiing senior to assist them in pursuing their dream to change the world.
