Idaho Falls School District 91 Driver's Education

Students wishing to participate in Driver's Edcuaton through School District 91 must first register online and pay the $100 registratin fee (See info. in red below). Registration can be done by visiting the school district's home page, student tab and driver's education. Choose the section of interest. Read carefully the dates that have been arranged to get student permits at the Driver's Licensing office at the corner of Shoup and E street in Idaho Falls. After acquiring a driver's permit, the receipt given by the Driver's Licensing office MUST be given to the instructor the first day of class.

To obtain the permit at the DMV office, the following will be needed:

  1. Certified Birth Certificate.
  2. Photo Identification - school activity card, yearbook, etc.
  3. Social Security Card
  4. Completed Verification of Compliance-VOC form (per Idaho Code 49-303A). Click on the link, print, complete the top portion and ask your school counseling office to sign and seal.
  5. Photo Identification of Liability Signer. The person who will be signing as liability signer will need to prove identification in relationship to the student.
  6. Permit Fee - $21.50

The fee for District 91 driver's education will be $200**. A student must pay a registration fee of $100 to be in the class. Positions will be filled with the first 24 paid fees.  Parents may make payment at the District Office on John Adams Parkway or online using the following link:  e-Funds for Schools. An account will need to be established and there is a nominal fee. 

The classroom instruction for fall, winter, and spring sessions typically occur on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Behind the wheel instruction is scheduled by the instructor and student.

The summer session schedule will be determined by each instructor. Typically classroom sessions will be held in the morning Monday through Friday, but may vary according to the instructors summer demands. The summer session usually does not last as long as the other sessions because of added time in the classroom each day.
