Cops Against Cancer (CAC) provides financial assistance and resources to cancer patients & families experiencing the overwhelming & unexpected expenses associated with cancer treatments that are not covered by insurances. CAC promotes and provides cancer awareness and prevention within our communities through public events, patient education and motivational and inspirational coaching programs. Our goal is to not only provide assistance but also helps restore dreams, goal setting and normalcy to the lives of cancer patients and their families.
For 2014, Cops Against Cancer reported from their tax statement, “90 percent of funds raised go directly to supporting and assisting our cancer families and while keeping our overhead at 10 percent. Why, we don’t have big offices or any paid Board Members or staff.”
Since 2010, Cops Against Cancer have assisted over 550 cancer families directly in 78 of Iowa’s 99 counties.
Cops Against Cancer has made it their commitment to make a difference in other cancer patients’ lives. As a faith based organization, our core members are made up of Cancer Survivors, Careproviders, and Medical Professionals who know first-hand the struggles Cancer families endure.
Cops Against Cancer is built on the pillars of recovery and extending the quality of life for cancer families, providing one-on-one, family and group support transition and life purpose coaching, providing navigation and advocacy resource referrals, grief and loss coaching, survivor to survivor recovery programs and financial assistance.
