The History Hunters Youth Reporter Program is an innovative literacy-based program that allows students to “hunt” for history in one of Philadelphia’s most historic neighborhoods. Participants visit four of Germantown's outstanding historic sites during the school year, where they take part in a variety of hands-on activities and experiences that bring history to life. As “investigative reporters” on assignment, students also gather facts and sketches for follow-up writing in the classroom.
The History Hunters Youth Reporter Program curriculum is closely tied to both Pennsylvania and District Standards and Core Curriculum for 4th and 5th grades, and can be tailored to other grade levels by special arrangement.
