Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition

 

The Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition is comprised of more than 50 individuals and organizations representing business, non-profit, education, and government entities. Formed in 2006, the Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition (www.gwjumpstart.org) is an affiliate of the national Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.(www.jumpstart.org).

Passionate in our belief that teaching personal finance to young people in schools is crucial, the Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition’s mission is to collaborate and support personal financial literacy of pre-kindergarten through college students in the Greater Washington region.

We envision a generation of financially capable citizens.

Initiatives are aligned with our mission:

  • Partner in schools, communities, and youth programs to conduct and/or support financial literacy
  • Support parent involvement programs on teaching financial literacy
  • Sponsor professional development events for PreK-12 classroom educators
  • Raise public awareness about the need for financial literacy and education in school
  • Share educational resources offered through partners and other trusted sources
  • Provide networking to share resources, expertise, and a channel to form other partnerships
