Bead & Reel | Free the Slaves

Bead & Reel was founded by costume designer and humanitarian Sica Schmitz in 2014 in Los Angeles. She based the company on the belief that fashion and ethics aren’t mutually exclusive, and created the premiere online shop for eco-friendly, cruelty-free, sweatshop-free styles for the conscientious woman.

Featuring over 60 brands focused on 15 different searchable ethics which all meet the criteria of being thoughtful to animals, people, and the world, Bead & Reel offers a carefully curated selection of handpicked designers and products. 

Along with the founder of the Fair Trade Fashion Show, Bead & Reel is a member of Fair Trade LA, PETA Vegan Approved, and the winner of the 2017 Sustainable Business Council Award. 

Free the Slaves helps communities chart their own path toward sustainable freedom based on their unique needs and circumstances.
