East Bay Food Revolution

So it's always cool to throw a party, but even cooler to throw a party that helps build something our community desparately needs.  We're losing the war against obesity in the US. It's sad, but true. Our kids are growing up overweight & malnourished from a diet of processed foods, & today's children will be the first generation ever to live shorter lives than their parents. It's time for change. It's time for a Food Revolution.

The problem stems from the loss of cooking skills at home & the availability of processed foods at every turn, from the school cafeteria to church function halls, factories & offices. This Food Revolution is about saving lives by inspiring everyone: moms, dads, kids, teens & cafeteria workers to get back to basics and start cooking good food from scratch.

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we also want our kids to know where good food comes from, so we decided to build a center that will give kids & families in our community the opportunity not only to learn how to cook great food, but empower them to grow it for themselves.  We aim to build a huge culinary garden with the produce grown made available to the community & the resources in our kitchen to show them how to cook it!

We will name this amazing center "Hope's Farm & Kitchen", for two reasons:  Hope Phillips was an amazing lady restauranteur who is very dear & inspiring to our founders.  She sadly lost a battle with cancer in April & we honor her love & contribution to our lives with this center.  Secondly, we want to provide "HOPE" to our community.  HOPE for a better way of living and HOPE for a better future for our kids!  Join the Food Revolution!
