Cops Against Cancer assists with clients and their families with expenses such as gas cards, meal vouchers and lodging during cancer treatment as well as other unplanned expenses that can occur when a diagnosis of cancer is made.

What make our organization different from the national cancer organizations is we are not focused on research; our highest priority is responding and reacting to the emergency calls from cancers victims asking for assistance. We are focused on the victims who need assistance now. We are compassionate and strive to ease the immediate financial pain of the victim and their families, so they can focus on the health challenges they are facing.

Previous expenses that we have assisted with have included monthly utility payments, home repairs, mortgage payments, and rent. Ninety per cent of our clients are single fixed income or low income families, with limited or no medical insurance.

Many families have depleted most or all of their medical leave and receive minimal to no disability coverage.

Often, families are required to travel long distances to receive treatments because of insurance requirements. Some clients are driving more than 100 miles each way for as many as 28-30 treatments over a 5-6 week period. Without gas cards, lodging and other financial assistance that Cops Against Cancer provides, many of these patient would be unable to receive treatments.
