Chamber Music Society of Louisville

The Chamber Music Society was founded in 1938 and is currently in its 77th season.  Our primary purpose is to present concerts featuring world class artists in exceptional performances of both well-seasoned and cutting-edge chamber music works.

The 2014-15 season includes concerts by the Emerson String Quartet, the Los Angeles Piano Quartet, the Johannes String Quartet, the Amernet String Quartet with soprano Lauren Skuce Gross, Music from Copland House and Brooklyn Rider.

Other than the Brooklyn Rider concert, each concert is held at 3pm on Sunday in the acoustically-acclaimed Margaret Comstock Concert hall at the U of L School of Music.  This year, we are presenting (in partnership with the Clifton Center) a special additional Thursday-evening concert of the Brooklyn Rider string quartet on April 16, 2015 at 7:30pm at the Clifton Center.

Subscription for regular season tickets (including the Brooklyn Rider concert) are $100 and student season tickets are $15. Single tickets are $25 ($5 for students). Pre-concert talks take place before each performance in Classroom 130 at the School of Music building at 2:00 P.M.

The School of Music building is best accessed from Cardinal Boulevard by turning South onto 1st Street, also known as the North Entrance to the U of L campus.  Free parking is located immediately to the West of the School of Music building.

The Chamber Music Society of Louisville is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and operates with the support of its longtime partner, the University of Louisville School of Music.
