Welcome to the Nashville Chapter of American Association of Zoo Keepers (Nashville AAZK). Although not officially part of the Nashville Zoo, Nashville AAZK activities and efforts are fully endorsed and supported by the Zoo.
AAZK’s purpose to foster a professional attitude in animal keepers by encouraging them to become active members of the professional teams at today’s zoo and aquariums. AAZK supports the promotion and implementation of zoo keeper education and strives to make the general public aware of our concern for all valid and deserving conservation projects and the need for the preservation of our natural resources and animal life.
Nashville AAZK holds year-round conservation fund-raisers, volunteer opportunities, educational programs, and monthly meetings to meet the goals of our mission. Annual events include a Keeper/Staff dunk booth during the zoo's Ice Day Event, recognizing staff during National Zookeeper Week, representation at Nashville Zoo Member Night events, an annual Animal Art Auction and Bowling For Rhinos, a nation-wide AAZK fundraiser.
