Kevin Hartz

Kevin Hartz, Co-Founder & CEO

Kevin Hartz is Co-Founder & CEO of Eventbrite, a company that enables event creation, promotion, and ticket sales; while also helping people discover events that match their passions. Kevin was previously Co-Founder and CEO of Xoom Corporation, an international money transfer company, servicing more than 30 countries worldwide.

Kevin began his career as a product manager and later co-founded ConnectGroup, a start-up providing high-speed Internet access to the hotel industry. ConnectGroup was acquired by Lodgenet (NASDAQ: LNET).

Kevin holds a BAS from Stanford University, as well as an MA from Oxford University (University College).

He has been an active early stage investor and advisor to start-ups including PayPal, Pinterest, Lookout, Milo (acquired by eBay), TripIt (acquired by Concur (nasd: CNQR)) Flixster, Airbnb, Yammer, and Trulia. Kevin lives in San Francisco with his wife, Julia, and two young daughters.

Julia spends her day focusing on the happiness, productivity, and growth of the team at Eventbrite (aka the Britelings). She strives to foster the culture that has defined Eventbrite, and that has placed the company among the Top 5 Best Places to Work in the Bay Area two years in a row, according to the SF Business Times.

Prior to co-founding Eventbrite with her husband, Kevin Hartz, Julia enjoyed a career in Television Development at MTV Networks and FX Networks. She was fortunate enough to be a part of acclaimed shows such as Jackass, Nip/Tuck, The Shield, Rescue Me, and Morgan Spurlock's 30 Days.

Julia graduated from Pepperdine University with a B.A. in Telecommunications. She has served on the board of The Village Well, a non-profit organization that supports slow parenting, and has been active in The Full Circle Fund.

Julia has participated in several keynotes and panels to discuss ticketing, social commerce, and entrepreneurship including 2011 SF MusicTech, 2010 SXSW, 2011 Women in Business Conference, 2010 Girls in Tech Catalyst Conference, and 2010 Women 2.0 Founders Lab and Pitch Night.

Julia lives in San Francisco with her handsome husband, adorable daughters, and a pretend dog.

Renaud Visage

Renaud Visage, Co-Founder & CTO

Renaud is the founding technical architect of Eventbrite and is responsible for the internationalization of our platform.

Renaud started his career as an environmental consultant with Geomatrix Consultants where he designed and managed large-scale environmental cleanups. Fascinated by the Internet, Renaud joined, as the Director of Engineering, Internet photo-sharing pioneer, Zing Networks which was funded by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and later acquired by Sony ImageStation.

Renaud is also an accomplished architectural and travel photographer. His work is represented by various stock photo agencies around the world like Getty Images, Age Fotostock or Alamy. His work has been used in magazines, books, movies, brochures and advertisements in more than 40 countries. A portfolio of his work can be seen on his photography web site.

Renaud has a Master of Engineering from Cornell University and from Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France).

Julie Thompson

Julie Thompson, VP of Product

As VP of Product, Julie is responsible for overall direction and design of Eventbrite.

Julie has over eight years experience managing a variety of software products from conception to release. She started her career as a software engineer and moved into product management to improve communications between customers, engineers and business teams. Julie made her leap to product management while working for Elemental Software, a startup which Macromedia acquired in 1999. At Macromedia, she was a Senior Product Manager responsible for major product releases on both the Dreamweaver and Flash product lines. Later, Julie joined Apple as Product Manager of Shake in Apple's Pro Apps Division.

Julie holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from University of California, San Diego and a master's degree from Columbia University.

Pat Poels

Pat Poels, VP of Engineering

Pat leads the world-class engineering team at Eventbrite.

Pat was previously a big part of the engineering team at Ticketmaster, where he served as Vice President of Software Development. Pat's 15+ years at Ticketmaster coincided with their explosive growth into the market leader in ticketing. Pat was responsible for host system development, where he engineered numerous innovations in the live event ticketing industry. Prior to his leadership role, Pat wrote much of the reserved seating inventory system that is still in use today.

Pat has recently returned to software engineering after pursuing his passion for poker. In his five year professional poker career, Pat has accumulated over 1 million dollars in tournament poker prize money. Pat is one of a select few of poker professionals to have won multiple World Series of Poker bracelets.

Nels Gilbreth

Nels Gilbreth, VP of Finance

Nels is responsible for analytics, finance and colorful bar charts.

Nels first got started in finance at Ziff Brothers Investments, a New York based hedge fund. In their risk management department he drew on his experience in the sciences to develop financial models and recommend equity and derivative trades. He also generated various financial reports and metrics used to gauge the performance and risk of the overall fund. Later he was hired by Lehman Brothers where he executed interest rate product trades for institutional investors.

Nels holds a B.A. in physics from Colgate University and a masters (MPhil) in physics from Cambridge University (Trinity Hall). Nels has passed the Series 7, has a scuba diving certification, holds 3 U.S. Sailing certifications, has a Private Pilot's license and a current drivers license.

Tamara Mendelsohn

Tamara Mendelsohn, VP of Marketing

Tamara loves live music events and tech events focused on positive social change.

Tamara leads marketing for Eventbrite; focusing on customer acquisition, retention, and branding. She is passionate about spreading the good word for Eventbrite and the magic of bringing people together through events. She is equally obsessed with the power of social media and believes that technology changes everything.

Prior to Eventbrite, Tamara was a senior analyst with Forrester Research, an independent technology research and consulting firm. As an expert on eCommerce technology, multichannel retail, and trends in how consumers integrate technology into shopping, Tamara authored research reports and worked with both retailers and technology vendors to help them shape their strategies. She spoke regularly at industry events, sat on the advisory boards of several industry associations, and has been quoted in top newspapers and journals.

Tamara is a graduate of MIT Sloan School of Management and received her bachelor's degree in comparative literature and economics from Wellesley College.

Dana Kilian

Dana Kilian, VP of Customer Experience

Dana is responsible for ensuring Eventbrite customers are extremely happy. She leads a team of stellar CSRs who are lucky enough to talk with Eventbrite customers daily.

She brings deep knowledge of improving the customer experience for Internet businesses by focusing on scalable, efficient, direct, honest and personal service.

Dana's passion for improving the customer experience began at Google where she was an early member of the AdWords team. She had the opportunity to contribute to the hyper-growth of Google client services teams by managing strategic relationships with AdWords customers, developing and leading training programs, mentoring new managers and leading a team of world-class CSRs.

She most recently comes from TurnHere, where she had the pleasure of managing their client services team.

Dana holds a BA from the University of California at Berkeley. She lives in Berkeley with her husband, Scott, young daughter, Grace and their cat, Bella.
