PART HARMONICA WIZARD AND PART rhythmic explorer, Harper is a fiery artist who blurs the lines between rock, blues, soul and world music. His latest Blind Pig release, "Day By Day", displays his trademark virtuoso harp performances, distinctive instrumentation, deeply soulful grooves and instantly memorable songs and provides another prime example of why his unique roots music style occupies a category of its own. Harper has been described as "a singer with the deep soul of Motown, a harmonica player who can graft Sonny Boy II and Little Walter with John Popper, a songwriter who tells his own compelling stories in an unhurried, J.J. Cale-like manner, and a musical visionary who is unafraid to mix the didgeridoo, an important part of his Australian indigenous culture, with infectious modern percussive rhythms". His skill lies in the fact that he is able to tap into the kindred spirits running through his traditional and modern influences, borrowing from western and world music to develop a highly original take on the roots genre. He also takes the harmonica beyond its assigned place. Harper’s innovative use of electronic enhancement and feedback breaks the traditional boundaries of the harmonica, giving his music its distinctive harmonics and effects.

Randy McAllister is one of the premier singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist to emerge from Texas. Heartbreak, humor, high hair and tall Texas tales all play a part in the song writing of Randy McAllister. His music has been hailed as some of the most original and innovative being made today. While comparison's are not easy, it has been said that his music is a cross between Doug Sahm, John Hiatt and Delbert McClinton, with a blues man's background and sensibilities thrown into the mix.
Raised in the small Texas town of Novice, McAllister is a fifth-generation Texan, whose father was both a fireman and musician. His father was a drummer in a band called "The Flames". At a very young age, Randy followed in his fathers foots steps. He began to take up drumming, but the drums were just the beginning for Randy, as he began to develop as a singer and songwriter.
"If Mark Twain had envisioned a 21st century roots musician, he might have created a character like Randy McAllister, with an easy-going persona and a wry, and an observant wit. McAllister weaves material in the singer/songwriter tradition, with nods to a variety of styles. He is one of those rare artists who is able to meld genres such as gospel, blues, country, Tex-Mex, rock and zydeco together and come away with something that is uniquely him.
**In performance, his songs combine an uncontainable energy and intensity with lyrics that dig into the tough topics. From urban violence, homelessness and other harsh realities to more common concerns like love and dating, McAllister's songwriting approach is particularly skillful, able to be both truthful and funny. McAllister takes universal feelings and translates them into today's reality, with his own pointed style expressed through his distinctive, soulful voice."
McAllister has released 7 critically praised albums beginning with his debut "Diggin' for Sofa Change", followed by "Grease, Grit, Dirt and Spit", the much heralded "Double Rectified Bust Head", 2002 GRAMMY NOMINEE "Givers and Takers", "Temporary Fixes" and A "Little Left of Center" all built on a firm foundation that is his songwriting. His much anticipated Compilation CD, "Flying High While Staying Low Down" was released in late 2006. Most recently Randy released, "Dope Slap Soup" in June of 2007.

Walter Trout and Friends
THE BLUES COMES “FULL CIRCLE” WITH WALTER TROUT & FRIENDS
New CD Release: “Full Circle” – embraces where he is, where he has been, and where he is going
Guitarist–vocalist WALTER TROUT returns with his first new studio work in five years, FULL CIRCLE. The landmark effort is the realization of Walter’s long held dream to invite musician-friends from his 35+ year career to compose and play together with him. Featured artists include John Mayall, Coco Montoya, Bernard Allison, Jeff Healey, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Sardinas, Guitar Shorty, Junior Watson and James Harman and others.
FULL CIRCLE is a celebration of the diverse styles within the blues genre, an inspired journey of musical magic by master musicians creating “on the spot” compositions in the studio. No studio gimmickry, just “one-take” performances that demonstrate Walter Trout’s appreciation and utter mastery of all shades of the blues.
Walter Trout never regarded playing the guitar about fitting into categories or pleasing the critics. Walter discovered as a young man that playing the guitar was his way of expressing the heartache, the frustration, and the pain he was feeling as a shy teenager growing up in a turbulent household. Walter became dedicated to the vision of becoming a professional musician not for fame and fortune, but to honestly and passionately use his talent to express his feelings and communicate with his audience on an emotional level.
It has always puzzled Walter that some critics have wanted to brand and label the style of his music. Is it “blues” or is it “rock”? To Walter it has always been about honest expression, and he found that between musicians there were no such boundaries, and he wanted to show how the different approaches within the blues genre co-exist and mutually enhance each other. This was the starting point for FULL CIRCLE!
With FULL CIRCLE Walter wanted to find the “sweet spot” of musician interplay by jamming and playing with friends as the ultimate in fun and freedom of expression. He also wanted to acknowledge each player’s unique sound, and then add the Walter Trout touch to their approach. The players were NOT invited to “pay homage” to the “Style of Walter Trout”. Quite on the contrary! So consequently what you hear is the diversity of blues; and the flexibility of Walter Trout….having a really great time making music with his friends. Friends who are some of the best in the business.
Walter Trout has known many of his guest artists since early in his career. The old photos included with the CD’s extensive liner notes tell the stories of many friendships formed through Walter’s beginning as a side man with John Lee Hooker, through the world tours with Canned Heat and John Mayall, and finally through Walter’s now 17 year long career as a renowned artist in his own right with many years of sold-out European tours, almost a decade of touring in the USA, and hundreds of thousands of records sold world wide.
All the music on FULL CIRCLE has been done live in the studio with all the players facing each other to enjoy the full interplay between the musicians, and also to arrive at a very honest and authentic feel. Any imperfections have been left to stand for the sake of the feeling. No guitar fixes! Many songs were left to stand without rehearsal and are first takes!
