Why are we hosting this fundraiser?

Lyla Grace Stroman, was born 6 weeks premature on May 30th, 2010 and received a diagnosis of Trisomy 18 shortly after birth.  For more information about Trisomy 18, please click on www.trisomy18.org and www.trisomy.org

Lyla spent the first 6 weeks of her life at Children's Hospital, Boston, coming home on her actual due date of July 8.  We were not given much hope that Lyla would survive her hospital stay let alone all the time we have been blessed to have her here with us in Newburyport.  It was literally like jumping off a cliff the day we all left Children's.  But Lyla has been a brave fighter! Lyla continues to suprise everyone in the medical community.  Lyla is now home, surrounded by the love of her parents Irene and George, brothers Jack and Oscar, as well as her big sister Emme and a large extended family and community.

Immediate call to action: Lyla has several holes in her heart which need surgical repair in the next few months. Lyla's friends and family are committed to offer financial assistance during this difficult time.  Care giving of an infant with Lyla's diagnosis needs to be constant and consistant.  Won't you join us to help her?

Donations will be accepted the night of the event, if you can't make it, please consider a donation at:
