Six Portland Chefs Face-off for a Pairing Competition to Raise Funds for United Way

Portland’s premier craft beer hotel, Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Portland, is launching the first of an annual beer pairing chef competition on Sunday, November 21st to benefit the United Way.  Six of Portland’s finest chefs, from restaurants Wildwood, Davis St. Tavern, Gilt Club, Aquariva, Red Star and Cafe Nell, will pair small bites with an Oregon craft beer to compete for the Monaco Cup. The winner of the Monaco Cup will be determined by attendee votes.

Chef and brewery pairings include:

·      Aquariva and Ninkasi Brewing

·      Cafe Nell and Ambacht Brewery

·      Davis Street Tavern and Double Mountain

·      Gilt Club with Upright Brewing

·      Red Star and Hopworks Urban Brewery

·      Wildwood and Heater Allen Brewery

Tickets are $20 per person and include six small plates and beer pairings. Additional beer tickets available on-site. Proceeds benefit United Way.  Please note that this is a 21 and over only event.
